Orientation
It has been a week since 2007 commenced...and it has certainly been a whirlwind of activity. Although it was only the first week of the year, it certainly felt like a month to me. Orientation at Temasek Junior College (T.J.C.) has certainly been hectic and uncertain... here's the events that happened during the 4 days of orientation...

" Welcome to T.J. ...."the voice of the emcee boomed loudly as we stepped into the auditorium. Faces of uncertainty were visible and aplenty, as we wondered what lies ahead of us. However, all thoughts of anxiety were put to rest when the orientation group leaders(o.g.l.) assumed control of the crowd. (I was in o.g.8 by the way-Dooga shaga!) Through the icebreakers, we immediately lost all signs of fear as the process of making friends began in earnest. To liven things up, the T.J.C. mass dance was performed and taught to us and by the end of the day, I was totally drained of my energy... Upon reaching home, i went to sleep immediately after dinner...

Day 2 was also fun-filled, as there was the Amazing Race, whereby my group travelled around the east of Singapore to complete certain stations and earn points. However, besides the fun of cheering and helping one another, we had to endure the scorching sun, stingy station-masters(lol!) and endless hours of walking...Nevertheless, that did not deter any of us, as we managed to garner as many points as possible. Together with another session of mass dance, it was another energy-sapping day...

The third day was certainly one never to forget, as the past 2 days of vigorous, complex and muscle-aching dance practice could finally be showcased at the fountain of wealth situated at Suntec City. Personally, i was quite surprised when i heard of the mass dance which is usually held annually at Suntec. I had never attended a mass dance before (besides ACES Day), let alone do a mass dance for a school which i have only been for about 3 days... I was shell-shocked. Ha! Despite the initial shock, that definitely did not show during the dance. Everyone partied the night away, and we could have gone on had the rain not interrupted the dance and put an end to the fun and joy...It was a night to remember...

Finally, the last day of orientation arrived. I felt slightly annoyed at the notion of having to go to school on Saturday. Ha, never did i expect the day, or rather, the night to be even more memorable. The afternoon was o.g. bonding time, as the group spent their time at Pizza Hut for lunch, playing games like "Truth or Dare" and other group games.
After that, there was the performance, aka BOND 007 Night. Before entering the hall, we had some face-painting done to resemble like tribesmen on the verge of war. (By the way, our group Doogashaga is the tribe group). We made a spectacular entrance in black and green, adn being the last group to arrive, we certainly made a scene! Then, the performance commenced and we were entertained by o.g. performances, beauty paegant as well as a grand finale acted by our very own clan masters. At the end of the perfromance, our voices were hoarse, our energy drained and our bodies ached, but what truly matters was to witness T.J.C.'s spirit at full force and embracing the power of united T.J.C. It was truly unforgettable!!!

I know that i am being quite long-winded here, but i'm truly proud to be in T.J.C.. I really wish that in 2 months time, i will receive the confirmation that I will be in T.J.C., then i can truly be happy, but no matter what happens, these memories of the 4 days of orientation will always be etched in my mind forever...T.J.....U ROCK!!!
