Fading...
Over these past few days, I have been from one outing to another... and now as I'm typing away, I feel both exhausted and lost...sometimes...i really wonder where are my goals in life....With so little time to spare before the start of another year, i really wonder if i can ever escape from the pressure that awaits me: my schoolwork, revision, expectations as well as my inner demons. Well, in between these long moments of feeling lost and a sense of hopelessness, i still find time, respite and sanity in the outings which i had been over the past few days...
On Tuesday, after HC meeting in the late morning(discussing on what to do for next year's CNY carnival), I proceeded to Settler's Cafe at Katong to immense myself in 3-4 hours of playing a variety (not plethora...haha) of games ranging from "Who's the Boss?", "Bluff", "Miner and Saboteur", "Say the word"...although the games do not ring a bell to anyone, it certainly was a blast for the 7 of us (Davis, Hilary, Jia Yu, Kiang Yan, Linda and Xin Hui). It was really a short getaway from the otherwise mundane holiday I've been having, but i certainly enjoyed every moment of it. After that, we had dinner at East Coast Lagoon Food Court, having Hokkien Prawn Mee, Satay and Chap Kway Teow. Mmm...it was definitely a sumptuous spread! After which, we strolled all the way back to Mac's, passing by the breeze, sand and night...."romantic"-termed by Kian Yan...lol.. On Thursday, I had Econs project meeting with my fellow classmates. Despite the monotony of the subject, it was the fun that was worth remembering. That day, we spent a considerable amount of time doing up the poster needed for our project. It was definitely a long day, but it was something to note as it was another one of these days whereby i get to be with classmates to do something together, even if it means "reliving" the moments of PW. As for today, it was definitely something to remember. We went to the Bethesda church to do CIP for LEO. We gathered there and decorated the area with the theme of "Merry Christmas" before prepared a game of Bingo for the elderly. The simplicity of the game was definitely a bonus for us, as we had little problem teaching the elders on how to play the game of getting 5-in-a-row. After the game and another sumptuous meal of buffet, we proceeded to bring the elderly to see the sights( actually...lights...) of Orchard. It was really a heartwarming experience for me as personally, i was told that these elderly only get to see Orchard only once or twice a year...especially approaching Christmas. We joked, we laughed, we even sang songs together. For a moment, i forgot the age gap that seemed so apparent... Sometimes, i really wonder how ironical life is, when the fun moments in life are short-lived...while the unpleasant times have to be endured with little more than a hint of apathetic-ness... From the song of Daniel Bedingfield-Never Gonna Leave Your Side: "I feel like a song without the words, a man without a soul, a bird without its wings, a heart without a home. I feel like a knight without a sword, a sky without the sun, cause you are the one. I feel like a ship beneath the waves, a child who's lost its way, a door without a key, a face without a name. I feel like a breath without the air, and everyday's the same, since you've gone away." This is how i feel...can't wait for the misery to pass...can't wait for the love to come...can't wait for freedom to arrive... Emo- Listening to songs to soothe my soul... Labels: Fading |
