Running
It's the morning of Chinese New Year! Yeah! Technically, I'm 18 years old le...but for tomorrow (the second day of CNY), I will be 19! HAHA! Look like i gotta celebrate another birthday... :P
Anyway, two days ago, I was pretty emo...not sure why...just felt quite unhappy... Hmm...guess it's one of those "off" days... Man...to all Delta H.C. members...I'm so sorry for my attitude...SORRY! Guess I shouldn't be looking so moody during the meeting....really felt bad about it thinking about it now...Even now...as i tried to think of why i felt so emo...I couldn't find any reason...guess it must have been the fatigue of PE and about 12 hours in school... On a happier note...It was TJ's very own Road Run today! Haha...everyone was decked out in their PE gear....and after morning assembly, everyone headed out to the Sports Complex to prepare for the run. All House Comm members began to tie up the banners and brought along pails and cheer sheets...the Inter House event has just begun... Decked in my Delta PE outfit, I was all-set for the long run....Haha...actually...it was just 5.2 km...but its still FAR man! Ok... admittedly, the distance wasn't the fearful thing to me...rather, it was the huge number of competitors taking part that make me break out into a cold sweat just minutes before the start of the male category. I was dam nervous...all that adrenaline pumping anticipation gathered into one tense moment. When the flag was brought down, everyone began running, and so did I. Guess the "Drink 200ml of water 30 min before the race" and "Do more stretching" tips did the trick... Admittedly, I did not even put in a single bit of training for the run, yet I felt pretty good when I ran the route... As there were 2 uphill points in the run, I was still feeling OK when i went past the 2nd uphill point. About 1-2km before the end, my legs starting giving way... "Just go on...just go on..." I closed my eyes for a while and when I opened, I focused my attention on my nearest runner. My tactic: Use the runner as my pacer...and when I gain enough momentum...I will overtake him to go on to the next runner... Hmm...that did the trick and about 200 m before the finishing line, I began sprinting...1...2....3....I tried for the 4th...but i couldn't get past him...At least I did manage to overtake 3 more people at the last minute... Got a lowly 133th position...but guess I should be lucky...there were at least 300 runners and only the top 150 would be given a card(signify one's ranking...lol). After a brief moment of resting and panting, I changed to my white H.C. T-shirt and began to join my fellow Delta H.C. members in leading our group's cheer...admittedly...Delta seemed like the smallest in proportion... yet...we WON the CHEERING competition! YEAH! Kudos to them...Though we didn't win Overall champions, I believed that everyone was a winner....well...I mean for all those who at least completed the race... :P Just 4 hours ago, I had my REUNION dinner! Steamboat! Teriayki Barbecue! Desert after that! Well, that sums up my yummy meal...I'm like full beyond full...but nothing like a good meal makes me HAPPY! YEAH MAN!!! On a random note...I've exceeded 200 songs in my imeem le!!!!!!!!! YEEEHA!!! LOL... Recommend me any good songs k? Last but not least...HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!! May U be flooded with Hongbaos!!! And of course to all u readers out there, wishing u guys a prosperous, successful and fruitful new year! Basically, may all good things go your way and be HAPPY and HEALTHY always!!! Cheers W.Q. |
