2009!
Well, this is it. A year of anticipation, trepidation and decisions has finally come to a fitting end. For me, 2009 has been so fruitful, yet saddening at times as i brood over what has happened for the entire year, including the period of absence leading to this post.

2009 has been the year when i enlist into the army. To me, the army has had many defining moments, both painful and successful, which had occurred to me. From BMT in Yankee coy, where i had my first taste of life as a recruit and where i first thought army wasn't such a bad idea after all. Then came, Kilo coy, where i enjoyed 8 weeks in sispec before enduring another 13 weeks in Golf coy. Then came 2 weeks of CPC, before I'm back to where i came from- Pulau Tekong.

My 6 months of training may seem like such a breeze from what i have just summarised, but who says life ever IS easy. From my toe-nail surgery to countless cases of diarrhoea, to even my 7-day SOL, life has never been smooth sailing for me so far. That's why when I enter Tekong, I sincerely hope that I can lead the remaining 13 and a half months with more ease and less haste.
Being a commander has its privileges, but along with it has its responsibilites. Yet, with each passing day, i just tell myself, "One more day has passed, one less day to go".

For this year, I'm not going to write anything about my top 10 defining moments. This is not because I am not keen on revealing anything, but rather, it is the lack of time and interest to relate most of these defining moments, which is mostly related to army.

Well, perhaps it's a lack of time, or a lack of interest, or maybe both, but i got to go now. I sincerely wish everyone who's reading this all the best for the new year 2010 ahead! May we enjoy renewed vigour and lots of good luck and good health always!

Ciao,
W.Q.
